He has written more than a dozen non-fiction titles including the bestselling Crap Towns series and Enemies of the People, a commentary on the folks who brought us Brexit and Trump.
As a journalist, he mainly writes for the Guardian, and mainly
about books. He writes fiction and non-fiction reviews and for several years ran the Not The Booker Prize, and the Guardian’s online book club, The Reading Group.
