We launched the WriteWell in 2021 as the world’s first online writing for wellbeing community. Members get access to a wealth of writing courses, live events and activities as part of a monthly subscription.

WriteWell Community is a safe and accessible place online where anyone can have a go at writing to help themselves feel better.

Everyday Creativity – Get inspired with playful writing activities and creative games. Write some postcards, try our positive affirmation generator, start a story inspired by a famous first line, and make some drag and drop poetry. There are ideas for dog lovers, cricket players and football fans.

Bitesize Classes – Quick-fire writing classes in everything from coping with change to writing yourself calmer. Start whenever you’re ready.

Writing Courses – Explore writing for wellbeing with a friendly bunch of fellow writers on our four-week courses: Building Resilience, Navigating Change, Finding Purpose, Building Better Habits, Creating Calm, The Big Picture, Starting to Write Fiction, Your Dog Your Mirror.

Live Events – Live Zoom talks and interactive workshops with authors and wellbeing experts. Join our regular seven-day mindfulness challenges, Just Write Together sessions, writing evenings and creative journaling workshops.

Meet your Moderator

Claire Maguire

Claire Maguire

Claire joined the Professional Writing Academy team in 2019.

She manages and facilitates an online writing community for the PWA called WriteWell. It is a subscription-based therapeutic writing platform to help people improve their mental wellbeing.

Previously, Claire worked for 20 years in television and on radio both in Ireland and in Britain. She enjoyed her time working on the small screen and taking on various roles as a researcher, writer, editor, interviewer and reporter. She’s been fortunate to interview such varied personalities through the years from the world of politics, entertainment, health and industry. 

Claire’s monthly opinion column with Inspire Magazine gave her the opportunity to use her voice and to offer new and alternative ideas concerning health and living. She runs a private yoga school where she promotes well being through postures and meditation.
