We have some exciting events lined up for our alumni, from author Q&As to a writing workshop that draws upon your surroundings.

Stay connected

Explore our regular sessions to connect with other writers or dedicate time to write.

  • Sit & Write
    Set aside regular time and headspace each week to get stuff written. Our
     Sit & Write sessions set you up with a deadline to get that writing done. We meet weekly on Zoom on Mondays, 7:00 – 8:30pm GMT. No need to book – just turn up in our online space on Zoom and write for an hour!

  • Writers’ Hive
    We meet in our Writers’ Hive every other week, to share a coffee (or beverage of your choice) and just chat. The sessions are hosted by writer and moderator Emily Unwin. W
    e meet fortnightly on Zoom on Tuesdays, 7:00 – 8:30pm GMT. No need to book – just drop in when you can make it.

Live events

Monthly live events to kickstart your writing, with space to chat with industry professionals.

  • Workshop with Nicola Skinner – Tuesday 5 March, 7-9pm UK time.
    Explore a fresh approach to storytelling. Discover how landmarks can ignite your creativity and become dynamic characters in your narrative. From ancient monuments to everyday sights, unlock the potential of landmarks as storytelling tools.

  • Q&A with Catriona Shine – Thursday 21 March, 7-8pm UK time.
    Join us for a special Q&A to celebrate the publication of alumna Catriona Shine’s recently-published debut novel, Habitat, and find out about her writing process and journey to publication.

  • Q&A with Alwyn Hamilton – Tuesday 23 April, 7-8 pm UK time.
    Join Lee Weatherly and best-selling YA fantasy author Alwyn Hamilton for a special Q&A, where we’ll be talking about creating convincing fantasy worlds, authentic YA characters, and how to hook readers right from the start.

Meet your Core team

Georgia Northall

Georgia Northall is our marketing lead.

She holds a BA (Hons) in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University and has since achieved certification in Digital Marketing.

She runs our social media and produces much of our marketing materials, from newsletters and tweets to blogs and live events.

You can also find her behind the scenes at WriteWell.

She’s an avid reader of fantasy and sci-fi, scouring the internet for recommendations at every opportunity. With several years of experience as an online book reviewer up her sleeve, there’s nothing she loves more than chatting about the latest publishing news.
