Maria Carranza is a Mexican writer, script consultant, development executive, historian, and translator with 12+ years of international experience in film and TV.
She has a MSt in Creative Writing from the University of Oxford and has worked for some internationally renowned film production companies, such as Mantarraya in Mexico City. She’s worked as a script and book reader for Original Film Netflix UK, Austin Film Festival, and the Athens Film Office, amongst many others, as well as a script consultant for dozens of projects in the UK, USA and Mexico.
The films she has developed and produced have premiered at festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival, Venice Film Festival, Berlinale, and International Film Festival Rotterdam.
